Those of you know know our story, know that before DD Practical was born, we both worked in the Live Events & Entertainment Industry; predominantly working in the Theatre. COVID put a swift stop to that and we created DD Practical to keep ourselves going through the last 18 months.
The Live Events Industry is finally starting to get back on its feet and we are so excited to announce that we are confirmed to work this years Pantomime at Darlington Hippodrome. Pantomime is a very busy time of year for Theatre workers. We work two shows a day, 6 days a week with the 7th day dedicated to resting and washing clothes!
We will be living out of a suitcase, away from home for 5 weeks and spending most of the day at the theatre. This means we cannot take our Leatherworking materials and tools with us and there isn’t time to spend working on anything else.
This means that we will be CLOSING our online shop two weeks before CLOSING the physical shop for our Winter Annual Leave. All stock will be marked as *out of stock* which will allow you to browse the online shop but not place any orders.

We will be closing our online shop on Saturday 6th November 2021 at 23:59. This is also the last date to place small in-store orders.
Due to the time it takes to source materials and make larger leathercrafts and bespoke commissions, we will not be accepting larger orders after Saturday 23rd October 2021.
This is to allow us to complete all orders before we close the physical shop.
DISCLAIMER: We may have to close the order book earlier than these dates, depending on volume of orders.

We are sorry that the shop will be closed for 6 weeks which seems like a really long time. We just cannot see any way of being able to do BOTH whilst working on Pantomime. If you can get your orders in sooner rather than later, there shouldn’t be any issues in fulfilling your requirements. We will of course keep you up to date with your order progress and contact you immediately if we encounter any issues with the supply chain.
