Brexit and Covid-19 Delays

Like many other businesses across the UK, Brexit and the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic has had a significant impact on our supply chain.

As a direct result we are experiencing delays receiving some of the raw materials we use in our creations. 

In some cases this means a postage delay of 1 or 2 days, and in others it means raw materials are out of stock due to import delays.

In a few cases our suppliers are unable to tell us when certain items will be back in stock.
We are also aware that a number of overseas suppliers have made it clear that they will no longer ship to the UK as a direct result of Brexit. Whilst we exclusively source our raw materials within the UK, our suppliers may source from outside the UK which may indirectly affect our supply chain.

As I’m sure you will be aware, all of our products are made to order, by hand.  Whilst we strive to keep a reasonable amount of raw materials in stock so that orders can be made and dispatched quickly, some of our stock levels are starting to run low.  Given the range of items we make it is simply unreasonable (and uneconomical) for us to keep stock of absolutely everything we might need, so certain items are stocked on a ‘just-in-time’ basis.
As soon as we receive an order we check what is required to complete that order and restock if required.

 

To compound the problem, Royal mail have recently announced that ‘…due to resourcing issues…’ deliveries to certain areas may be limited. We use Royal mail for all of our outgoing mail and parcels.

All UK orders over £20 will be posted using Royal Mail Tracked or Signed For services. All International Orders will be sent Royal Mail International Tracked at usual Royal Mail prices. You will receive shipping updates via email.

All of this means there may be processing and postage delays for some of your orders.


Please feel free to contact us prior to placing your order to check if we have everything we need in stock. We will of course keep you updated on your order, should any delays arise.
