Today we joined a convoy of VW’s from Accrington to Colne, where we met up with three local VW clubs. The weather was delightful and stayed warm and bright the whole time -BONUS! It was lovely to see so many happy Dubbers all together (socially distanced) enjoying an easy going Sunday.
We all met at Lakeside Cafe, Colne which is in a beautiful location. The car park was full of VWs, it was a wonderous sight to see. It didn’t take us long to find a good spot, that was far enough away from everyone else. After a lovely latte and bacon butty from the cafe (which Dave says was very well organised for social distancing and safe for customers) we grabbed the comfy chairs and set up shop.
We had taken some pre-orders for Club stickers over the weekend so that everyone could pick them up at the meet (and save on postage) so we created a unique way to display the stickers available and allow everyone to pay for them safely using contactless payment.
A suitcase in the boot makes an excellent display stand for stickers, don’t you think? We even took some leathercrafts and stationery to brighten up the “stall” even more. We definitely need some sort of banner though. [Just ordered from Amazon].
Overall we had a wonderful day in the sunshine, which does wonders for your mental health! We hope the weather holds out a little while longer so we can complete repairs on our own VW Camper with the view to some short trips away.
